*WORKSHOP WITH SHARON KERR OF MEXICO. 3:00pm-5:00pm. All levels. Dancer and master teacher within the American Tribal Style in México. From the city of Cuernavaca in the state of Morelos. Has organized Tribal Pura workshop with Carolena Nericcio and Megha Gavin of Fat Chance BellyDance and; Rachel Brice and Mardi Love of The Indigo. Nominated for this year’s Badiaa Masabni award. In this “American Tribal Style” workshops you’ll learn the fundamentals and basics of ATS, through combos and cues to develop this dance within a group as a semi or complete improvisation.
*MASTER CLASS WITH LEILA FARID OF EGYPT. 5:00pm-7:00pm. Born and raised in the US she began dancing at age 16. In 2002 she moves to Cairo, Egypt and has quickly become the fastest risinig star in Egypt’s oriental dance. Teaching workshops in Egypt and around the world. This is her second visit to Tijuana where she will teach this Master class of Egyptian style and folk dance for teachers and profesionals.

FRIDAY 28TH:
*BELLY RACKS 2009 3RD INTERNATIONAL BELLYDANCE CONTEST. 2:00am a 11:00pm. Presented by Desireé Zaid and organized by Desireé ZAID MAYA Productions. This contest is oriented to the discovery of new talents, to generate a space of cultural development, production and diffusion where it seeks to elevate the level of this art in the country searching for the mutual appreciation, the exchange of experiences and the recognition of the qualities and capacities of the diverse dancers and thus to give the possibility to all the competitors of being consecrated as the best of the event; besides this we encourage them in their artistic development. Everything developed within one competition that proyects the coexistence, respect and flow of knowledge between its participants as well as to share the love for the Oriental Dance in a family and artistic atmosphere.

2:30am Contest begins.
10:30pm Our Gala begins followed by our Awards ceremony. We present our International award “Belly Racks 2009” to one of our guest judges and grant the Title “Miss Belly Racks 2009” to one lucky winner! *WORSHOP WITH ANGY NAJLA OF VENEZUELA. First part: 9:00am-11:00am.All levels. With more than 16 years of artistic career inside this dance and situated in Margarita Island in Venezuela. Was awarded the "Amir Thaleb 2007" International award in Argentina. President of the International Jury in Belly Racks 2008. Was awarded the International "Belly Racks 2008" award in Tijuana, Mexico. She organizes the "National Contest of Bellydance and Fusion in Venezuela" since 2007. With her know-how acquired throug the years she has created her own teaching method which she carries out in her Dance Studio since 1996, as well as in workshops she dictates in a national and international level. This will be the second time she comes to Mexico to teache workshops. You know the modern styles of bellydance, but do you know its roots? And where they come from? In this workshop " Rhythms and 7 primary folk dances of Oriental Dance" you will learn the characteristics and dance differences, of costume, rhythmic and musicals cues among the 7 main folk dances of the Oriental Dance. With the so dynamic and peculiar way of teaching that already is known of this teacher.
* WORSHOP WITH LEILA FARID OF CAIRO EGYPT. First part: 11:00am-2:00pm. All levels. Learn the true Egyptian style of someone of the category of this teacher, one of the main exponents of the bellydance inside Egypt and the world. Sharing her know-how acquired in Cairo since 2002 we’re she is currently living and performing and creating her own style upon dancing and teaching.
* WORSHOP WITH MARIA SHAZADI OF MEXICO. 2:15pm-4:15pm All levels. Todos los niveles. With more than 10 years of artistic career inside this dance and situated in Mexico City. Winner of Badiaa Masabni Award in 2008. She has dictated workshops in Mexico and Germany. She’s been a judge in Bellydance Contest in both Germany and the US and of couse in her own "Bellydance Contest Mexico" for three occasions in Mexico City. This is the second occasion she visits Tijuana; now with her specialty in drum solos learn how to create and combine movements that stand out and enfatize the rhythms created by the percussionist to achieve a harmony in your dance.
*DIVINE DANCE NIGHT 2009 9TH INTERNATIONAL BELLYDANCE FESTIVAL. 4:00pm-8:00pm.
The Mexican Institute of Culture, Art and Human Development. Through its volunteers has been dedicated to create art, to favor spaces for the development of the culture in our city as well as to diffuse Art and Culture for the human development in all it’s modalities, being the oriental dance grate parte of ou resumé, since our begginings we have planned diverse activities that have achieve a great knowleadge of this dance from an educational and cultural and entertainment point of view. We haver carried for 9 consecutive years this Festival as a space where anybody who develop the Oriental Dance can participate And they can participate fromany part of the world; any student, academy or teacher that would like to share their dance in an environment of union and of harmony. *STAR’S GRAND GALA WITH OUR CELEBRATY PERFORMERS OF RACKS DIVINE.8:30pm-10:30pm This our main event of RACKS DIVINE 2009, a GREAT GALA that gathers so much and so prestigious talents of Baja California, Mexico and the world... this year the Organizing Committee of RACKS DIVINE are honored in presenting inside a single setting so much personality that seeks to diffuse and hightlight this Art and its Culture each time they can; each one cooperating with their support, their energy, and above all their talent, to carry this dance to the most prestigious levels of artistic expression in the world. *CLOSING CEREMONY. 9:30am. Formal act that includes the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the presence of our star celebraties, Government Officials and the Organizing Committee. Free entrance.
*DIVINE ARTIST PARADE. 10:00am-11:00am. We invite the artistic community to declare its desapproval towards any means of violence with the permanent campaing of "MORE ART AND CULTURE FOR LESS VIOLENCE” through the active participation inside the second parade a formal act with cultural, educational, artistic members and authorities of Tijuana, the ceremony includes the performance of dances sucha as ballet, contemporary, flamenco and other dances, before starting of the parade where all the artists are invited to support this peaceful movement in which we try to initiate a change through cultural and artistic activities. Send your registration for this peaceful march. Participate individually or as a group. Free admision.

She organizes for the 4th year the Maktub Festival that gathers national and international artists. She visits Mexico for the first time where you will have the opportunity to learn and to deepen the Oriental style through combos and cues for a drum solo act. This worksop is the last activity of the Convention.
